GreenRoots works to achieve environmental justice and greater quality of life through collective action, unity, education and youth leadership across neighborhoods and communities.

GreenRoots is a community-based organization dedicated to improving and enhancing the urban environment and public health in Chelsea and surrounding communities. We do so through deep community engagement and empowerment, youth leadership and implementation of innovative projects and campaigns.

GreenRoots Response to COVID-19

GreenRoots, an environmental justice organization working on both sides of the highly industrial Chelsea Creek, is disheartened to see that the rates of COVID19 infection in our neighborhoods are significantly higher than the rest of Massachusetts.

These are unprecedented times for our communities and we will continue working hand in hand with our City officials, our members and neighbors, and our organizational partners to ensure the protection of all Chelsea residents, in particular the most vulnerable.
